MEDICA is the world’s largest trade fair for medical products and technology. This year’s edition was held in Düsseldorf, Germany, between 13-16 November and attracted a total of 123,500 visitors from more than 130 countries. Kiversal took part in this prestigious event aimed at the medical industry to present its first product: Audixi 10, the internet-enabled digital audiometer.
What is MEDICA? The World Forum for Medicine
MEDICA is an opportunity for companies from different countries to negotiate, sell and gain access to new markets. “MEDICA and COMPAMED have always had a high degree of international impact and this remains their trump card. Top decision-makers from around the world come together here and see the huge breadth of what we have on offer,” explains Joachim Schäfer, Managing Director of Messe Düsseldorf.
This year, of a total of 123,500 medtech sector professionals that visited the event, more than 60% came from countries outside Germany, while 5,100 exhibitors of 66 nationalities took part in the fair to present a wide variety of innovative products.
Kiversal’s experience at MEDICA 2017
Kiversal spent four exciting and productive days at the trade fair, during which we were visited by distributors, consultants, competitors and service companies.
We showcased our star product, the Audixi 10 audiometer, at our stand located in the FENIN (Spanish Federation of Healthcare Technology Companies) pavilion, where visitors were also able to see a demonstration of the device. As Kiversal CEO and co-founder José María Plana explains, “Audixi 10 was well received; the feedback has been really good. Some of our visitors wanted to purchase one of our audiometers.”
Audixi 10 has aroused great professional interest due to the fact that “Competitor products have a different approach that is less digitalized,” says Piedad Díez, CFO and co-founder of Kiversal. She adds: “Our digital audiometer is compact, portable and innovative, and received an excellent reception at this important international event.”
Piedad goes on to underline the importance of arranging on-site meetings with distributors in advance to make the most of the event. “It really works: they all visited our stand. We will actively search for new contacts to meet at the next edition as it yields great results.”
MEDICA was also a fantastic networking opportunity for Kiversal and opened the door to future partnerships. Both members of the team confirm that, “We will be back to repeat the experience with a stand in the FENIN pavilion next year.” José María adds that, furthermore, “The audiometer will be on the market at next year’s edition.”
